Birmingham Festival Theatre is auditioning performers aged 18+ for Richard O’Brien’s THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW directed by Sam Torres.
GENERAL CALL:
Currently casting all roles in our upcoming production of Richard O’Brien’s THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW.

PRODUCTION DATES:
Rehearsals and performances take place Monday - Saturday 6:30-9:30pm.
The production time commitment is 9 weeks.
Rehearsals starts May 6th.
Show open June 14th.

AUDITION PREPARATION:
Please prepare a contemporary musical theater from or in the style of the show, no longer than a minute. We would like to see strong grounded choices with a clear sense of storytelling. Please bring a copy of your headshot, resume, and your book in case you’re asked to sing something else or fill the form prior to the audition.

ABOUT THE SHOW:
In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker and a creepy butler. Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named “Rocky.”
That “Sweet Transvestite” and his motley crew did the “Time Warp” on Broadway in a 25th anniversary revival. Complete with sass from the audience, cascading toilet paper, and an array of other audience participation props, this deliberately kitschy rock ’n’ roll sci-fi gothic musical is more fun than ever.
